Thank you so much!!!!! We had the best Sukkot ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not only our family had a sukka but we shared it with another 2 families.

One is our non religious friends that came to us the first night and their kids had a lot of fun and experienced Sukkot like no other. The second one is our good friends that had one of the meals with us, they didn’t have sukka and were one meal short the first chag. Their girls help decorate the sukka and it was the best looking in our neighborhood!!!

I wanted to take a picture with all the kids but rain started right after the first shabbat and didn’t stop till the following week. However I think I do have one photo and I will send it to you!!!

Please thank Oorah in our name, we are very grateful to you and to all the people behind it.

Best Regards,
Simona

Yom Tov in TheZone – “Heaven on Earth”

Bookmark and Share

Yom Tov in TheZone cannot be described in words! The atmosphere was on a spiritual level that angels can comprehend more than humans. The spirit of the holiday permeated the air. The Mitzvah to be “Oleh Regel” was in the times that our holy temple stood in Jerusalem, Jews from the Diaspora would travel to spend the Holiday in the Temple. Spending a Yom Tov in TheZone with our Oorah family gives us an idea of the spirituality that one would have been exposed to in the Bais Hamikdash (Holy Temple).

Nobody feels like “guests”, rather everyone feels like “family” because all the people involved in arranging and hosting the Yom Tov are people that truly model the concept of “giving”. This creates an atmosphere of friendship and camaraderie amongst all members of the Oorah family.

Much thought and planning must have gone into the program because it was super! The materialistic part of the program was superb and delicately woven into the spiritual part of the program which made it Yom Tov that we will not forget.

Combining heartfelt davening at all Teffilos, Torah mates learning time, excellent food and great company at every meal makes Yom Tov in The Zone “HEAVEN ON EARTH”

A very special thank you to all those who made this Yom Tov possible!!!

There is no word,
It’s was awsome,

with no TV, no phone or cellphone, no computer,
and no cooking…

with great learning, but not too much,
For each of us, making new friends and connections,
receiving good advices,
We love Oorah / The Zone,
Thank you so much for giving us this incredible experience we will never forget,
Thank you to our rabbi, Rabbi Samuel Krasner, who push us to call Oorah and to push us to go upstate for Sukkoth.
Thank you to Rabbi Mintz, Rabbi Lichtenstein and Rabbi Biderman for hosting us and creating such a great atmosphere among us.
And thank you to all of you at Oorah who work to help us and give us joy.
In sumary: when could we do this again? ;)

Thank you again,

A Camper’s Reflections on Sukkos in TheZone

Succot with Oorah was the best holiday ever!!!!!!
I enjoyed every second. Usually a holiday that goes into Shabbat is so long and overwhelming.. I have to plan what I should do and what I can eat and take care of everything before, now that I keep the holiday and shabbat; but a holiday in camp and shabbat was the greatest idea ever. My parents wouldn’t let me go anywhere for the chag besides for Oorah. I knew I was going to have a good time but I didn’t think I was going to have the BEST time ever. Everything about it was so awesome, I got to dress up and feel the beauty. It was a real paradise. Chag succot is all about happiness, and being there with the people you love in such a special place was the greatest thrill.

Enjoy!!
