Kiruv,
or Jewish outreach, means “to bring close.”
There are many ways of bringing Jews closer to their heritage,
and many organizations dedicated to this ideal.
Some focus on seminars that awaken the intellect. Some
focus on individual mitzvos like Shabbos observance. Some
apply their energies to enrolling children in yeshivos.
Oorah’s place in the kiruv world is unique, for
it encompasses the entire spectrum of Jewish living.
Through Oorah, children experience a comprehensive religious
education, chol hamoed trips events with their peers,
summer camp, yom tov gatherings and much more.
Their families are provided with yom tov essentials like
sukkahs, lulav and esrog, shmurah matzah and shalach manos,
as well as ritual objects like mezuzos and tefillin. Oorah
is total kiruv, bringing families close to their Jewish
heritage through total immersion in the beauty of Jewish
life. |
