About Oorah
Oorah Inc, founded in 1979 by Rabbi Chaim Mintz, is a non-profit Jewish organization providing year-round activities and educational opportunities to Jewish children and Families. Oorah's mission is to give Jewish children and families a chance to have a share in our heritage. From summer camps and weekend retreats to tutoring and adult learning opportunities, Oorah runs more than 49 different programs each addressing a specific need in the Jewish community, including:
TheZone Jewish summer camps for kids
Young adult summer learning program
Free one on one Jewish study program for adults
Jewish preschool in Staten Island, New York
Weekly torah class with Rabbi Chaim Mintz in Staten Island streamed live online
The Rebbetzins: A matchmaking program for the newly observant young Jewish Adult
Oorah also hosts the annual Oorahthon, an online auction, as well as additional fundraising events throughout the year
